Introduction
Sri Narayana Swamy Temple Mandya gets submerged in the backwaters of the Krishna Raja sagara dam. The ancient temple is located near Anandur of Mysore district, Karnataka, India. The temple structure seemed to have appeared out of nowhere on the opposite side of the Kaveri river bank of New Venugopalaswamy temple backwaters. The structure usually gets submerged in the dam water and due to severe shortage of rain this summer made the water recede drastically. The structure is old and in depleting condition. The Sri Narayana Swamy Temple has stood the pressure of water and a part of the structure has collapsed. The place is 20 kms from Mysore and 150 kms from Bangalore, 6kms from Brindavan Garden and 5 kms from Blue Lagoon island. There are many more stone carvings found lying around this region.
