Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. The Lord is facing east and the Goddess is facing south. There is a front hall in front of the sanctum sanctorum and in the small hall opposite it is Nandi, renovations are going on. So some of the motifs are kept outside the sanctum sanctorum. There are two Ganeshas and the beautiful Subramanya, and the Navagrahas are in the same order to the south as in the Thiruvarur temple. Nearby are a lingam on one side and a Bhairavar on the other. To the north is the Sanders Sanctuary and to the northeast is a well. Dakshinamoorthy and Linkodhava are in the gosht. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K.
