• Location: Veppathangudi Village, Thiruvarur Circle, Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu
  • The village is located 13 km south of Tiruvarur on the Tiruthurapoondi road. A left turn before Mavur Bridge leads to Veppathangudi, which is 2 km further.
  • The village is surrounded by vast fields, with the Chitthar River running through it, which separates it from Villiyanur.
  • On the banks of Periyakulam, there is a Perumal Temple, and to the north-east of the village is the Shiva Temple located near another large pond.

• The sanctum of Lord Kailasanathar faces east.
• The sanctum of Ambika (Sivakamasundari) faces south.
• At the entrance to the Lord’s sanctum, there are beautiful shrines dedicated to Vinayaka (Lord Ganesha) and Murugan.
• A Nandi statue is placed in the front hall facing the Lord.
• There is a separate sanctum for Thenmugan.
• On the north side of the temple, there is a shrine dedicated to Durga.
• The temple is named after the large Neem tree growing in the backyard, which is a characteristic feature of the temple and its surroundings.
