Introduction
Thennankudi Sundareswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Thennankudi village, Thiruvarur circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Thennankudi village is a small village. This name is due to the fact that the banks of the river are rich in rice. There was an ancient Shiva temple here, the temple, which had deteriorated over time, stood as a single-story temple for many years. The one-story temple has been slightly reconstructed and renovated. Here the Primary deity is called as Sundareswarar, facing towards the east side, and Mother is called as Meenakshi, facing towards the south. On both sides of the front of the mandapam there are domes and there are Lord Ganesha and Lord Murugan. On the small platform in front is Nandi. Even though the temple is small, the best servants for him are in the village. The Gurus of the nearby villages are coming for the puja once in a while. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
