Introduction

Tenkodi Rudrakoteeswarar Temple is dedicated to lord Shiva, located in the Vedaranyam Taluk in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding deity is called as Rudrakoteeswarar and Mother is called as Tripurasundarai. The area where the five rivers such as the ‘Semman River’ flow is called ‘Panchanadikulam’. There are filling inscriptions all over the temple. There are shrines of Ganesha, Subramanian, Byravar, Sun, Moon and Saturn. The temple is believed to be 1000 Years old Shiva temple. The temple is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns sung by Sambandar.
