Introduction

                           Sellur-pettai Amritkadeswara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Sellur village, Thirunallar circle, Karaikal district. Sellur is a small village; a separate lingam has been roofed and placed at a place adjacent to a big industrial road. Here the Primary deity is called as Amritkadeswara and Mother is called as Abirami. The Lord is seated towards the west, in front of him is the Nandi altar, and at the gate are Valampuri ganapati and Balamurugan. The walls of the temple are decorated with colourful paintings of Lord – Amritakadeswarar and Lord – Abirami. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
