  • Legend: Hanuman, after retiring from service to Lord Rama, chose to settle in this shrine.

    • Constructed in the 16th century AD by the Gajapati ruler of Odisha
    • Sculptures in the temple were brought from the Konark Sun Temple
    • Tulasi Das, author of “Rama Charita Manasa,” stayed here during his visit to Puri
  • Religious Arrangement: The Ramananda Sect facilitated the installation of Hanuman images, including at Siddha Mahavira.

Temple Architecture and Idol:

    • Features: Holds a gada (mace) in the left hand and a rock boulder (Gandha-Mardana Parvata) in the right hand

    • Carvings: Depict postures of Lord Hanuman including Bali, Sugriva, Jambavan, Sushena, and Angada

    • Ceiling: Painted with scenes from the Ramayana
