Introduction

Parivilagam Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Parivilagam village, Kattumannarkoil circle, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. From Chidambaram, 12 km on Kanthakumaran Road going south-west, Parivilagam is one km away from here. This Shiva temple is situated on the banks of a large lake in the south of the town. Vilagam refers to lush gardens, pari means pride; completeness; Parivilagam means a village surrounded by fertile fields. Not know what happened to the old temple, now the new temple has started and three quarters of the work has been completed, the new idols are ready and some work is in progress. Lord Shiva is basking in the sun outside.
