Introduction
Adhinathar Jain Temple is a historic Jain temple located in Kunnathur Village, Thiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu. Kunnathur is a quaint village situated approximately 2 km from Polur on the Arani road. Historically referred to as Rajagambira Nallur during the Sambuvarayar period, it was later called Kundrathur before adopting its current name, Kunnathur. The temple was built in 1441 AD during the reign of Devarayar II by the local Jain community. It was later supported under the patronage of the Arcot Nawab.

The Adhinathar Jain Temple showcases ancient Jain architectural and spiritual heritage.
- Temple Structure:
- The temple comprises a Garbhagriha (sanctum), Antaralam (inner chamber), and a Prayer Mandapam.
- It is enclosed by a compound wall, adding to its serene and protected ambiance.
- Main Deity:
- The presiding deity, Shri Adhinathar, is depicted on a black stone plate, showcasing the Samavasarana Jinar features.
- The absence of a Lanchan (symbol) at the base of the sculpture suggests the ancient origin of the idol.
- Vimana:
- The Vimana (temple tower) over the Garbhagriha is adorned with statues of Tirthankaras in sitting postures, representing all four cardinal directions.
- Mortar lion idols are positioned at the corners, symbolizing protection and grandeur.
- Other Features:
- A small altar is located in the front porch for additional rituals.
- The temple has undergone complete renovation, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
