Introduction

1. Location:
   • Located in Palaniyappanagar, Gowrivakkam on Velachery Road, near Tambaram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
   • A small locality on the outskirts of Chennai.
2. Temple Significance:
   • Presiding deity is Panchamukha Hanuman, with five faces: Hanuman, Garuda, Hayagreeva, Varaha, and Narasimha.
   • All five faces are visible from the front, which is a unique feature compared to other Panchamuka Hanuman temples where Narasimha and Hayagreeva faces are often on the back or top.
   • Lord Hanuman in this temple has ten hands, each holding a different weapon.
3. Puranic Significance:
   • The temple is over 500 years old.
   • The five faces of Lord Hanuman represent various divine forces and symbolize protection and strength.
   • Utsava Moorthis: Small idols of Panchamuka Hanuman, Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Subramanya along with His consorts Valli and Devasena.
   • The temple also houses shrines for Lord Chakrathalwar and Lord Varasiddhi Vinayakar.
