Introduction

Aravur, also known as Araiyur, is located on the Kumbakonam – Mannargudi road and is separated from Needamangalam by the road to Koradacheri. Small village wrapped in greenery. A beautiful Shiva temple located ten cents to the east. It was given as Aravur because of the worship of Aravur called Karkodagan. Currently called Araiyur. Puranic Significance
