Introduction

Manambadi is a small town located at a distance of 10 km from Cholapuram on the Chennai- Kumbakonam road The National Highway runs through the center of the town, and the ancient Kailasanathar Shiva Temple, now known as the Naganathaswamy Temple, is located along this highway The temple has to be relocated as the road has to be widened. According to the Highways Department, the project was abandoned after several struggles and the road was relocated.
