Introduction

Sri Kamakshi Ambika Samedha Sri Kailasanathar temple is located in a village called Puliyancherry in Kodavasal taluk of Thiruvarur district. Puliyancherry is a small village which comprises of 120 houses. River Mudikondan passes through this village. Sri Kailasanathar Temple was completely demolished 15 years ago and the roof of the temple was in a state of collapse on top of the Swami. Due to this, the villagers came together, collected funds and set up a separate tin shed, in which the temple was built and the Swamis were consecrated. Funds are collected by the villagers and the puja is held by giving it to the priest as a monthly salary.

Puranic Significance

At present it has been decided to renovate the Sri Kailasanathar Temple by building new sannidhi. The first part of the Ganesha Sannidhi Thiruppani has been started by the villagers’ self-funded project.. As it is a small village, it is almost impossible to complete the work with the help of the villagers only with the funds required to complete the work. Serve the Lord and receive the good grace of Lord Shiva.

Special Features

Sri Kamakshi Ambika Sameda Sri Kailasanathar Temple and Sri Visalakshi Ambika Sameda Sri Viswanathaswamy Temple are located side by side in the village of Puliyancheri. This is a feature not found in any other village.
