Kattumannarkoil is a village located at the 5 km on the Chidambaram road. The town is affectionately known by the bus operators as Serampettai. The town is located on the banks of the Velliyankal stream, a tributary of the Veeranam Lake. It is said that there was a Shiva temple here several hundred years ago and that the lingam, which was in ruins over time, was outside the field.
