Introduction

Gangadhareshwara Temple, is a shiva temple located in S.Shivara, Hassan, Karnataka, India, Ancient temple of Lord Shiva on lake bed. Poorly maintained the temple. Lamp post is uniquely built using mud. Some carvings can be seen on the lamp post but most of them have eroded due to weathering. Famous kannada novelist Dr SL Bhairappa has spent his childhood at this place. Old and ancient Gangadareshwara Temple built next to shivara lake Temple is very old and not so well maintained. The temple architecture is little bit unique. The temple is completely dilapidated in condition.
