Introduction

Pitchaaleeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Pondavakkam Village in Thiruvallur District of Tamilnadu. The Temple is located at about 1.5 Km from Pondavakkam Bus Stop. The temple is very old and the Gopuram is in a ruined state. The God is Pitchaliswarar and the goddess is Maragathambigai. There are two kalabhairavar one near the entrance of the sanctum of the god and goddess each. The Murugan sanctum is exactly behind the gods sanctum which is a very different one.
