Introduction

Pudukkottai is located at a distance of about 8 km on the road from Aranthangi to Audaiyar temple The oldest temple in the area is believed to have been built by the Pandyas in the 13th century. Puranic Significance

The Mahamandapam houses the shrines of Sri Selva Varatharaja Perumal Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar Nammazhvar Sri Ramanujar. The blessed Anjaneyar here is special. This Anjaneyar, who looks like an old man, looks angry when viewed from the east and with a smiling face when viewed from the west.
