Introduction
Varadampattu Manmadhaparameswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Varadampattu village, Mayiladuthurai circle, Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu. Parameswaran, who is known as ‘Manmathaparameswarar’ because he burnt Manmadhana, has a temple in this village and blesses the devotees. This is an east facing Shiva temple. Here the Primary deity is called as Manmadhaparameswarar.
Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. Here the Lord is facing west side. This temple has walls on all four sides, an iron door and an ornamental arch on the west. Inside, the Mahamandapam, sanctum sanctorum Nandi and altar are there. In front of Nandi is Kodimara vinayaka on a small floor. At the entrance of the sanctum sanctorum there are Lord Ganesha on the left and Lord Muruga on the right. In the inner sanctum of the temple, the Pratyakshanatha lingam is facing towards the west. Ambikai has a shrine named Parvati towards the south. In the south-west is Maha ganapati valampuri. In the north-west is the Valli theiyani samedha murugan Sanctum. In the south, which a big bow tree is growing. The temple is worshiped twice in the morning and evening.
