Introduction

Ukkarai Vishwanath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Ukkarai village, Thiruvidaimarudur circle, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. In the centre of the town there is a small temple to the east which belongs to Thiruppananda Mutt. The Presiding deity is called as Lord Vishwanath, is facing east side and Mother is called as Vishalakshi, is facing south side inside the sanctum sanctorum. Nearby there is an idol of Surya and an idol of Ganesha. Nandi is in the small hall outside the sanctum. pujas are performed periodically. The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.
