Introduction

Thiruthangur Tirumeni Azhagar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Thiruthangur town, Thiruthurapoondi circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu.There are many temples in this town and this Shiva temple in the southeast side of the Thiruthangur. This Tirumeni Azhagar temple is the small single temple towards the west.Here the Presiding deity is called as LordTirumeni Azhagar in the form of big lingam, and mother is called Tirupura Sundari.

There is a Nandi in front of the lord.Lord Thirumeniyazhagar has built a small wall around the beautiful shrine. There is no other idol in the temple. The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.
