Introduction

From Thiruthani hill and climb the hill around the outside of the temple, there is a pond to the left after descending through the steps directly behind the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Going through it are the residences of the Sivacharyas. There is a pond to the left after descending through these steps. To the right is a small hall and its intersection. At this meeting first the Shivalingamurti and then the Ganesha appear inside. People call this the Sengashuneer Ganesha Temple. The Shivalinga body in this temple is called “Chengalvarayan” as the name is changed to “Chengalvarayan”. This small mandapam temple (the meeting place where Chengalvaraya Swami arose) is a depository called Kaluneerkunram. The temple is located on the Thiruthani hill. Bus facilities from major cities are plentiful.

Puranic Significance

Vaipu Sthalam is a Thondai Nadu deposit located in Upper Thiruvananthapuram. Kanchipuram and Thiruthani are revered as the eyes of the throat country. Today, Thiruthani is revered as the abode of Lord Murugan and is of great splendor. The place is also known as ‘Kaviyangiri’. The vase called ‘Kavi’ means the hill where the flower blooms. Similarly, Thiruthani hill is revered as the hill where the red water flower blooms. The Sengashuneer Ganesha Temple is named after Ganesha. Many people do not know that there is a Shivalinga body in this small temple. No maintenance. Swami does not seem to be put on fire. The junction is dark. No one seems to have considered or even seen this figure in the royal courtesies paid to Arulmigu Subramania Swami. The pond opposite is also not in good condition with plastic bottle and plastic bag are in the pond. Thiruthani hill is a water hillock ‘. It is said to be the only Shivalinga body in the hill that is not easily understood by others.
