Introduction
Sirkazhi Pidari Amman (Kalumalayamman) Temple is an Amman temple, located in the Sirkazhi circle, Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu. Here the Principal deity is called as Pidaru amman (Kalumalayamman). This auspicious temple is located in a small alley, north of the Sirkazhi big temple. This temple is situated towards the north direction.
Puranic Significance
The Temple is believed to be 800 years old amman temple. At the front is the Mottaikopuram, which houses the remains of Sapthakannis. Next to it, Vellathamman is in his Sanctum looking at Kagumalaiyamman. Inside the mandapam, Kagumalaiyamman is sitting towards the north direction. On the left side of the mandapam there are idols of Vinayagar, Ashwathamar and Vallabha ganapathi. The sanctum sanctorum has Guru on the left and Ganesha idols on the right. A festival is held for 10 days from the new moon that precedes the full moon of Chitrapurnami.
