Introduction

Sathyamangalam Angala Parameshwari Temple is an Amman temple dedicated to Angala Parameshwari, located in the Sathyamangalam, Erode district, Tamilnadu. The Temple is believed to be 600 years old. Brahman Nayaki, the goddess of Adi Shakti, is enshrined as Angala Parameswari in Sathyamangalam Komarapalayam and is a merciful mother. It is a very miraculous event that the mother has chosen that place.

Puranic Significance

About 600 years ago, four devotees of Angala Parameshwari in Mysore. By the grace of the Mother, they decided to build a temple for this Mother. For that, we should bring Malayanur Sri Angala Parameshwari, who is the source power. They brought soil from the grass, which is her power aspect, and along with it, brought the idol to the top of the mountain and thought to build a temple with that raw energy. Accordingly, they went to Melmalayanur and carved an Angali statue, took clay with it and left for Mysore. It was only after that that Amman’s thiruvilayadal started. Those four Mysore lovers went towards Mysore carrying the idol and the clay with deep devotion without knowing Ambikai’s Lord.

On the way, they decided to perform Sandhya Vandanam on the banks of river Bhavani at a place called Komarapalayam in Sathyamangalam, a town surrounded by divine powers. Unaware of the mother’s intention, they put down the idol of Ambikai and paid off their debts by taking a bath. Then they took Ambika’s idol to travel again. That’s when Ambigai’s amazing performance happened there. All four tried to take it together. But the idol didn’t move at all. No matter how hard tried, I couldn’t take it. Only then did they understand. If Ambika chooses and arranges the place where she has to sit and pray. As per Ambigai’s intention, the four gracious lovers worshiped the immovable idol and built a small temple on the spot. It was Sri Angala Parameshwari who came to rule there with such a play.

Special Features

One of the most wonderful things to see in this Angala Parameshwari temple is that people perform pujas and worships and receive the grace of Ambigai with the thought that they should not offer life sacrifices in the temple of Shanta Sorubiniyana. The majestic Rajagopuram rises powerfully. If you pass the Rajagopuram, in front of the Vasantha Mandapam, Karupana Swamy and Pechiyamman are sitting in Vishvarupa as Dushta Samkara rubers. A procession of decorative pillars in the Vasantha Mandapam has a Kanni corner with a Ganesha Sannidhi; the Maha Mandapam has Dasa Vidha pillars with Ashtalakshmi figures in it.
