The Koppu Konda Perumal Temple, situated atop a mountain to the north of Peddanaickenpalayam, is a renowned place of worship in the region. The presiding deity of the temple is known as Koppu Konda Perumal, who is a form of Lord Vishnu.

Age: The temple is believed to be around 1000 years old, and it holds significant historical and religious importance in the area.

Elevation: This hill temple is situated at an elevation of approximately 600 meters, providing visitors with scenic views of the surrounding landscape.

Number of Steps: Accessing the temple involves climbing nearly 2000 steps, indicating that it is located at a significant height.

Origin Story: According to local legend, around 500 years ago, people in the region discovered a naturally formed Koppu (statue or symbol) at the top of the hill. They placed the statue in its original location and constructed a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This act is believed to be the reason behind the temple’s name, “Koppu Konda Perumal Temple.” Another interpretation is that the hill itself resembles the shape of a Koppu.

Well on the Hill: One of the notable features of the temple is the presence of a well at a considerable height on the mountain. This well is known for always having water, which is considered a miraculous occurrence.

Cave Structures: The temple complex also includes three caves. One of these caves is situated on the west side of the temple. The other two caves are currently under excavation, suggesting that they may reveal further historical or religious significance.
