Introduction

Pallivaramangalam Kailasanathar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Pallivaramangalam village, Thiruvarur circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu.  This place is situated on the west bank of Vettaar and the place where the song of Triupalli was given is also nearby. It is a beautiful small town and this Shiva temple is located on the east side of the town. This temple, which was in disrepair for many years, has been renovated a few years ago.

Puranic Significance

Here the presiding deity is called as Lord – Kailasanathar and Mother is called as Kamatshi Amman.

The Lord is facing towards the East and Mother is facing towards the South side. There is a large hall at the front and many legends have been carved on its walls. Outside this mandapam there is Vinayaka on the left side and Balamurugan on the right side, Nandimandapam is the upper part of the temple which is not yet fully painted. Lord Nandi is waiting for help. Around Prakaram, Tenmukan Lingothava and Brahma Durga are displayed as small idols in Karuvarai kothams. Iyanar is on a single floor in the sanctum sanctorum area. Navagraha is a single lingam and is present in separate sanctuaries. Plants have sprouted in airfields without adequate maintenance. The Temple is believed to be more than 1000 years old.
