Introduction

Mrithunjeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Narasingampettai Village in Thiruvarur District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Mrithunjeswarar and Mother is called as Ponni Amman. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Nandi is placed outside the temple. Mother Sri Ponni amman is housed in separate sanctum. There are Murugan, Ganesh, Brahma, Dakshina Moorthy inside the temple premises. There is a big pond near to the temple. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old. The Temple is located on Thiruvarur – Kumbakonam Road. The Temple is located at 4 Kms from Kudavasal, 10 Kms from Engan, 22 Kms from Thiruvarur, 14 Kms from Koradacherry and 110 Kms from Trichy.
