Introduction
Nagalur Naganatha Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Nagalur village, Kilvelur circle, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. This is a small east facing temple. And there is a big pond in front of the temple. Here the Presiding deity is called as Lord-Naganatha and Mother is called as Soundaranayaki. This Lord is worshiped on Maha shivarathri by the devotee. At the front is the Arthamandapam and Maha Mandapam. Outside the Mahamandapam there is a Nandi altar in the Small Mandapam.
There are no deities in the karuvarai kotams, only Durgai is there. In the north-east are Navagraha and the three Nagas are presented. It is best to worship at this temple on Tuesdays which are Naga Dosham Ragu Doshams as it is the place where Adiseshan performed puja. The Temple is believed to be 1000 years old.
