Introduction
Kizhavenmani Dharmapureeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Kizhavenmani village, Kilvelur Taluk, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu. Kizhavenmani is a small village in Kilvellur circle. A small village with four or five ponds and two streets. The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old. A small Shiva temple on the upper bank of a pond. Here the presiding deity is called as Dharmapureeswarar and Mother is called as Mangalambhikai. Lord Dharmapureeswarar is facing east and Goddess Mangalambhikai has sanctum facing south. Small mandapam in the front, which houses Nandi. A small Ganesha sanctum in the south-west. There is also a sanctum in the north-west which also houses Ganesha. Sandesar is in the usual place. In the north-east corner are south facing Bhairava, west facing Sani, Moon and Sun. Only Tenmukhan and Durgai are included in Karurai Kotam.
