Puranic Significance:
- Damaged Idol: The idol at the temple is damaged. During the Ashta Bandana Maha Kumbabishekam, the committee wished to consecrate a new idol.
- Divine Intervention: The presiding deity appeared in the dreams of the committee members, instructing them not to replace the idol. As a result, the damaged idol was reinstated during the Kumbabishekam.
- Kumbabishekam (2000): On 17.04.2000, praharams and a new gopuram were erected with the help of Shri N. Sundaram Iyer and family.
- Belief: Devotees strongly believe that their wishes and prayers are fulfilled by the grace of Lord Vinayagar.
