Introduction
Bhuvaneswari Temple is an old temple, rooted on the Nilachal Hill in Guwahati, devoted to Goddess Bhuvaneswari. Like the Kamakhya Temple, the Ambubachi Fair happens here also on a significant extensive scale because this temple too is committed to Goddess Durga. It is said that this temple was built between the 7th and 9th centuries, dedicated to Goddess Bhuvaneswari. This temple is located at the top of the Nilachal Hills, a bit higher than the famous Kamakhya Temple in the city.
