Introduction
Eda-Melaiyur Siddhar Peedam is dedicated to Mahalingaswami, located in the Eda-Melaiyur village, Mannargudi circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. Eda- Melaiyur village is 8 km north of Mannargudi. A lingamurthy named Mahalingaswami has been installed in the temple. In front of the Lord is Nandi and behind that in a hall, Siddhar is sitting facing the Lord. The temple is facing east and has a sanctum sanctorum.
The Lord’s lingam is in the northern style, and nagars are arranged on its sides. Dakshnamurti is placed in a private room to the south of the Lord. A Bhairava is facing south in Prakaram. To the east are the large Saraswati and Mahalakshmi. The Temple is believed to be 500-1000 years old. The Swami of Sri Siddar Peedam is managed by Sarkuruseenivasadhar.
