• Idol’s Journey: The temple houses a 6-foot high and 3-foot diameter idol of Lord Vinayaga. It is said that while transporting the idol from Madurai to the Perur Pateeswarar Temple, the axle of the cart broke, causing the idol to be seated at the location where the temple was constructed.
