  • Situated on the south side of Chidambaram, this small yet historically significant temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • The temple is part of the Thillai region, which originally had 32 Shiva temples, many of which have been destroyed or reduced in prominence. Some idols from these temples are preserved here.

Access and Directions

• Located near Nandanar Boys High School on Sirkazhi Road:
  • Cross the school and a few hundred meters to the left is Sreenivasatriman Mandapam.
  • Take the small road next to the mandapam and the first right to reach this quaint Shiva temple.

  • Lord Shiva is worshipped as Yogapureeswarar, facing the East.
• Consort:
  • Goddess Parvati is worshipped here, facing the South.

• A front hall houses Nandi, the celestial bull and vehicle of Lord Shiva.

• It is one of the surviving temples in the Thillai region, which was once home to numerous Shiva temples, some of which have now been lost or converted into smaller shrines.
