Introduction
Satmahla Group of Temples is group of Shiva Temples dedicated to the Lord Shiva located in Bhadwahi Village in Udaipur Tehsil in Surguja District in the Indian state of Chattisgarh.
Puranic Significance
This temple was built during the 8th – 9th century CE.
According to legend, the Group of Temples in Devgarh Village was constructed by Haihaya King Kartavirya Arjuna during one of his hunting expeditions. This collection of temples includes seven structures made of bricks, with the primary temple being a Panchayatana Shiva Temple. Within this group of temples, you can find sculptures representing Ganga, Yamuna, and various Shiva Lingas. Additionally, there is a small brick-built step well located in close proximity to the group of temples, adding to the historical and architectural significance of the site.
