Introduction

Jagannath Temple is dedicated to the god Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra. The temple is located on Sarjapur Road in Agara in BangaloreKarnatakaIndia. Its main festival is the annual Rath Yatra, which sees more than fifteen thousand devotees. The temple is maintained by the Shree Jagannath Temple Trust of Bangalore.

Puranic Significance 

   Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are a trio of deities worshipped at the temple. The inner sanctum of the temple contains statues of these three Gods carved from sacred neem logs known as daru sitting on the bejeweled platform or ratnabedi, along with statues of Sudarshana Chakra, Madanmohan, Sridevi and Vishwadhatri.

The new Temple will open from 17 May 2015 in Bangalore at Agara. After a large pooja ceremony from 17 to 23 May 2015, the entire Deities idol would be taken to the new temple. The Lords Jagannath, Balarama, and Subhadra are performed from the Jagannath temple on an auspicious day and sitting on the chariot, all covered with flowers and lights. The magnificent chariot has a red canopy and is pulled on the sides by dense ropes. The Lords are bejeweled and adorned with aarti, religious chant, choral devotional hymns, and rhythmic drums and cymbals.
