Introduction
Ayyavadi Natham Shiva Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Ayyavadi village, Kumbakonam circle, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. It was Pratyangira who assisted Veerabhatra, who was sent by Lord Shiva to destroy the Daksha Yagna. She is the aspect of Bhadrakali. From Kumbakonam, the temple of this Pratyangira Devi, comes to Thirunageswaram, the famous place in the east, and crosses the Keerthiman River which flows in its south, Ayyavadi. Pancha Pandavas came to this place and worshiped this goddess and got the grace, so it is called Ivar Padi. Now the village is called as Ayyavadi. On the right of the main road is the Prithyangara temple, at the next bend take the first left and go straight ahead. There is a Medium sized lingam in a tin shed under a big royal tree on the banks of a pond. In order to build a temple for this purpose, Audaiyar and Ambigai idol and Rishabha idol have been prepared and kept in a temple tank. The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.
