Introduction
Ambal Sattainathar Aabathoththaran Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Located in the Ambal village, Nannilam circle, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu. This temple is half a km to the east of Ambal Brahmapureeswarar Temple in the village. The Presiding deity is called as Lord Apathoththaran and Mother is called as Lord Amritavalli. Here the Lord Shiva facing the east side and Goddess facing the south side. The cone-shaped halls before the Lord are beautiful. Outside it is the Nandi Mandapam. On the south side of the Lord’s shrine is Sattainathar shrine. The other deities are Vinayagar Murugan Mahalakshmi in the Sanctum. The oldest temple is in dilapidated condition. It is said in Ambar Purana that bathing in this theertha cures diseases like leprosy. The temple is said to be more than 1500 years old.
