• Located 3 km from Achirappakkam town.

Puranic Significance:

• A unique legend surrounds the temple, where Lord Shiva is said to have borrowed wealth from Lord Kubera for his wedding with Goddess Parvathi. Unable to repay the debt on time, Lord Shiva disguised himself as a villager in Achirappakkam, covering his head with a cloth and working in the fields. When Lord Kubera came searching, he failed to recognize Shiva and left.
• To this day, the Lingam of Mukkatteeswarar is depicted with a cloth-like covering over its head, symbolizing this legend.

Special Features:

• Sthala Vriksham (Sacred tree) of the temple is the Vilva tree.
• There are separate shrines for Lord Krishna, Garudalwar, and the Sapthakanni Devis.
• The temple has a pond named Kallaakulam.
• One-time puja is performed daily.
