Introduction
If you cross the Kollidam bridge on the road from Chidambaram to Sirkazhi, you will reach Kollidam. From there it is about 5 km on the road to Mahendrapalli. If you go there is Achalpuram. One km before that is the Nallavinayakapuram bus stand, which is one km south of this bus stand. There are no buses to this town. His father Sivapatha Iruthayar to marry Nambiandar Nambi’s daughter Mangai Nallala Gnanasambandar in Nallur Counted. The marriage was to take place at the Achalpuram temple. Tirunelveli Nayanar performed the wedding rites. When Sambandar crawls on fire He worshiped the Lord with the memory of joining Lord Shiva’s Thiruvadi, singing the entry that begins with ‘College Perumanam’, saying, “The marriage of Iruvinai is all around us, and Then Almighty Eason appeared as a torchbearer and said, “Let all those who come to marry you and your wife attend this torch”. It is said that the bridegroom Thirugnanasambandar asked Ganesha for a way to go to Achalpuram where the wedding was to take place. The whole village was once a Marudanayakam Pillai farm village and the temple is under their administration. Later people migrated from this town to Sirkazhi Vilandita Samudra but people still call their house Vinayak Nallur Farm. There is a Ganesha temple near this Shiva temple. The Shiva temple is located in front of the town. From the outside it looks like the temple is in a state of disrepair.
Puranic Significance
The temple faces east and has a beautiful large pond in the square. Stairs are set up to descend into the pool opposite the temple. The shrines are located in the middle of the surrounding high wall. The high teak doors with the wall are beautifully designed. A sanctum sanctorum connects the two shrines of Lord Kailasanathar Sanctuary to the east and Goddess Visalachchi Sanctuary to the south. From the ground to the surface known as the prostrate is the work of ebony. Opposite its mouth is a small nave and altar. Ganesha and Dantapani Kola Murugan are in the pavilions on either side of the gate. Lord small medium sized lingamurthy. Ambika is as fit as he is. According to the crawl to reach the fold school, it is crumbling inside. Ganesha has a small shrine at the back of the prakaram. The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is a sanctum sanctorum attached to a nearby wall. Adjacent to it is the shrine of Lord Murugan with his two consorts on the north-western side of the Lingamurti name Poologanathar to the east, on which the beautiful swastika forms have the most magnificent facets. Sandesar is sitting in meditation as he looks at the Lord so they have gone without doing it thinking that even adding oil to something is a hindrance to him. The planes of the temple are all covered with moss and green, and in some places the plants are sprouting. In the sanctum sanctorum, there are idols of Ganesha, Tenmugan Linkodpavar and Brahman Durga. I think of the two empty rooms on the northeast, the schoolhouse near the Natarajar shrine facing south. In a hall facing west, there is a lingamurthy named Sivaloganathar. Next is the scene where the sun lord with his two consorts named Sivasuriyaan near Byrvar is carved in the same stone. Nearby is a Nagar statue. The Navagrahas have a beautiful shape in a small hall. The only comforting news is that the Gurus are coming from a nearby town for a one-time puja. Adjacent to the sanctum sanctorum of the Goddess is a lush green willow tree, but there is no one to pray for the evening blessing ! # “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
