Introduction

From Gummidipoondi, this shiva temple is located and its 1000 year old temple. But there is a lot more to be done as the Rajagopuram is in a totally dilapidated state. He comes in the lineage of the hereditary care takers of this temple. Amman: Deivanayagi Samedha Moolavar: Chandrasekaraswamy should have been a very happy god at one time as this temple too shows vestiges of great architecture, patronage and care in the past. The Lord faces east and Ambal faces south the entrance Rajagopuram is in the south. Also present are Vinayaka and Muruga with his consorts. Stone inscriptions dating back to 1033 confirm the existence of this temple. The snake and fish inscriptions suggest the involvement of the pandias and cholas in the temple. Nithya Pradosham is a unique feature here.
