Introduction
“On a hill at the village of Kapavaram, in the Rajahmundry subdivision of Andhra Pradesh are remains of a stupa, chaitya, and viharas. “Pandavula metta in Korukonda metta at Kapavaram is a relics of Bouddha nilayams from where Buddhist monks propagated Buddhism here lays the glory of the place. Central Archaeological department conducted excavations and found a big stone which is called Mahachaityam along with they found 24 small stupas in half moon shape brick constructed chaityam, and also they found a platform and rooms constructed for the Buddhist monks to live and worship prayers. Apart from that a spacious prayer hall also found during excavation. To reach the main sanctum they built 27 steps down to reach which stands live examples of this place. The archaeological department confirmed that the construction is of 2 A.D. This is situated 20 Km away from Rajahmundry. To reach this place there are several buses commencing from Gokavaram (Rajahmundry) Bus-stand. All buses to Rampachodavaram via Gokavaram will also halt at Pandavulametta
