Together with the name of Agathiswarar, he had a temple to bless the devotees who worship him day in and day out. The old Agathiswarar Temple is one of the places where the Agathis had a vision and had a temple. The temple, which was once very famous, is now in ruins. Tears welled up in his eyes. It is said that Ambika Satyayadakshi has a separate shrine facing east on the left side of the Ian Agathiswarar shrine in this temple. Similarly, it is noteworthy that the Navagrahas here are carved in the same stone. The Paravalam Temple is located at a distance of about 6 km from Thiruvarur. Buses are available from Thiruvarur every two hours.
Puranic Significance
The Lord in this temple is consecrated and worshiped by Sage Agathi. The elders of the East say that Ambika was named Satyayadakshi here because she rules the truth and protects those who walk in the way of truth. Once a place of eternal worship and festivities, the temple has fallen into disrepair over the years. However, with the cooperation of the Urmas, a one-time puja was held here. Celebrations like Sangadahara Chaturthi, Pradosham, Ippasi Annabhishekam, Shivaratri, Vaikasi Visakam are also going well without interruption. Ian Agathiswara and Ambika Satyayadakshi are capable of bestowing blessings on the devotees. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
