Introduction
From Mayiladuthurai, on the Sembanarkoil Road, after crossing the Dharmapuram Athena Arts College, take the road on the right for 2 km to reach Mulapakkam. Also known as sprouting. One of the oldest Shiva temples here faces east. The present condition of this Shiva temple, which is nearly three hundred years old, is deplorable. Presents with great debris. There are no proper pujas. The Lord is facing east and the Lord is facing south. A home hall connects the two sanctuaries. Before that it was a mahamandapam with a conical roof and now the roof area has completely collapsed. Renovations have started and it has stopped halfway. The Ganesha Murugan shrines on the outer perimeter are also mere balconies without deities.
Puranic Significance
The sages say that the one who knows the Brahmasvarupa in this world is the Antasvarupa, and the one who does not know the Pramasvarupa is doomed. The Vedas also say that after knowing the soul and dying, one attains bliss without rebirth and attains bliss. How to know the Brahmasvarupa is to remove the torch from the top of the secular objects and rebuild the damaged temples with that material, Chanting the Panchachara Mantra in the mind at all times will give you the wisdom to know the nature of Brahma. The scripture says, “Gnana Meva Mokshaha.” It has been said in Sivagnanasithiyar that “wisdom is to say the mythical good word in the house four times” and “everything that is seasoned with action is available for the sake of gaining wisdom”. We will try and give as much material as possible to the temple handicrafts.
