Introduction
Lonar Mora Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva; the temple is located in the Lonar, Buldana District, and Maharashtra State. The Mor Mahadev temple, situated close to the Lonar lake. Half of it gets submerged in water when there are heavy rains and Lonar water level rises. This Shiva temple is near to the Wagh Mahadev Temple. The temple is located in a wooded area and has many peacocks frequenting it, and hence is known as Mor (Peacock) temple (15.24×8.16×4.21m). A slight increase in the water level makes it inaccessible during rainy seasons. The temple faces east and has entrances on east and north, while the south wall has a window opening. To view the Shiva Lingam in this temple you will require climbing down by about 2 feet. The temple is built during the 13th century. This temple also has some Kama-Sutra sculptures. One of the oldest Shiva temples. Not in good state.
