  • The Anandeshwar Temple is situated in Lasur Village, on the banks of the Purna River.

  • The temple is easily accessible from nearby towns and transportation hubs, with distances of approximately 4 kilometers from Ramtirth, 8 kilometers from Mhaisang, 14 kilometers from Daryapur Railway Station, 42 kilometers from Akola Airport, and 73 kilometers from Amravati Airport.
  • The temple can be reached via the Daryapur to Mhaisang route.

Historical Significance:

  • The temple is believed to have been constructed during the reign of King Ramachandra (1271 – 1311 CE) of the Yadavas of Devagiri.
  • The temple follows the Hemadpanthi architectural style and is an excellent example of this style in Maharashtra.
  • It is built facing east and stands on an elevated platform, accessible via a flight of steps.
  • The architectural style of the temple is characterized by its trikutachala (triple-shrine) design, which includes three shrines—one on each of the north, south, and west sides. These shrines are interconnected with an open sabha mandapa, or swarga mandapa, through a vestibule.

Architectural Features:

  • The temple’s sabha mandapa is supported by twelve intricately carved pillars, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of the period.
  • Inside the sanctum, the primary deity, Anandeshwar, is represented in the form of a Shiva Linga seated within a yonipitha.
  • The exterior walls, pillars, cornices, and roofs of the temple are adorned with a rich array of sculptures. These include depictions of various deities, yakshas, apsaras, sages, scenes from the puranas (ancient Hindu scriptures), and intricate floral and geometrical motifs.
