Introduction
Kodukizhi Muktiswarar Shiva Temple is dedicated to lord shiva, located in the Kodukizhi village, Papanasam Circle, Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu state, India. On the Thirukarukavur-Surakkayur road, on the north bank of the river, next to Onbathuveli, is the Kodukizhi village bus stand. There are brick canals on the banks of the river near this stop. Lakshmanan draws a line that Sita should not come beyond the parnasala. That place is this Kodukizhi village. This area is mentioned in the Ramaseeta Puranam. The presiding deity is called as Muktiswarar in the form of lingam inside the ruined temple. The moss catches up and displays the sanctuary as a “green temple”. In many different ways Lord Mukteshwar has changed to a separate cement slab shed. The Temple is believed to be 500-1000 years old. “With the kind permission of Sri Kadambur K. Vijayan, these are extracted from his posts”.
