Introduction

Ghotan is situated in Shevgaon Taluk, Ahmednagar District, Maharashtra. In the village are two Hemadpanti temples…. the main Mallikarjuna temple and the second is small Mahadev temple. The Mahadev temple consists of a garbhagriha, antarala followed by mandapa and mukhamandapa. The ceiling of mandapa and antarala and door frame of sanctum is adorned with beautiful decorations. Though notified as Jain temple, at present Shivlinga is housed in the sanctum. Temple is datable to 12th-13th AD. And the temple is dedicated to Mahadeva(Shiva). And a broken nandi placed outside the temple. The temple is completely Ruins state. No worship is taken here.
