Introduction

Ramalingar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is situated in Shenbagaramanallur, Thirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu.

Historical Significance:

• The Ramalingar Temple is believed to be more than 1500 years old.
• According to the Tamirabarani Mahatmiyam, this temple is one of the five important Shiva temples in the Tirunelveli region, collectively known as the Pancha Aasana Sthalams.

Pancha Asana Sthalams: The Pancha Aasana Sthalams in the Tirunelveli region are considered significant, and Ramalingar Temple is one of them. The other temples in this group are Kalakkad Satyavageeswarar Temple, Ervadi Tiruvazhundeesar Temple, Nanguneri Tirunageshwarar Temple, and Vijayanarayanam Manonmaneesar Temple.

Visiting the Temple:

• To reach the Ramalingar Temple from Nanguneri, you can take an auto or use a shared auto/share van service, which runs hourly.
• Buses also operate hourly from Nanguneri toward Moolaikaripetti. You can get down at the Shenbagaramanallur junction, which is about 2 kilometers away from the temple. From there, you can take a local auto to reach the temple.
