Introduction

Choleswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Ootathur Village in Trichy District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Choleswarar and Mother is called as Sornambigai. This Temple belongs to the Imperial Cholas Era. The temple is 1200 year old. For the past of couple of centuries this temple is not maintained. Recently it has been unearthed and swami and ambal has been brought out. Palalyam has been performed. Village people are conduct some special poojas in special days.
