Introduction
Dupadu a village prakasam district near Tripurantakam, on the bank of Sagar canal old stupa situated.(it is next to Chandavaram buddha stupa) Here is a Mound local people called as Dweepagadda. The archaeology department made a deep hole on the top of this stupa and collect valuable things. Dupadu located 80 km from Ongole, Dupadu is a famous Buddhist site. Here you can behold inter alia a stupa made of backed bricks; a pradakshinapatha with carved limestone slabs depicting two devotees worshipping the Bodhi Tree; a stupa showing the railing; torana,a pavilion;and a horse. The lower border is embellished with carving of galloping winged lions. An inscription in the Brahmi script chiseled on the top edge of the slab suggests that it belongs to the Satavahana Period.
